Monsoonies ARE Coming!

(Mid-July about 4:00 p.m. outside of my house - DUSTY)

Okay, as an Arizona native I am used to the late summer crazy weather... in fact I look forward to it. I like when mother nature is chaotic and unpredictable. Monsoon season is my favorite time of year! Also, as an Arizona native I know this is going to be one of the only great times of the year to shoot without the blazing sun overwhelming the beautiful landscape. Say what, clouds in AZ? ...An overcast day?  Yay I can't wait!!!

Gas or Food?

I pulled up to the pump and took a minute before filling half up with my credit card to read this...
I thought it happy I could relate to someone else making the decision to have to fill up to make it back home or to school or work. I appreciate street art and someone at least making an effort to question what their told. :)
While looking further this message also makes me realize others have also had enough of the bureaucratic BS.
Below is my political piece from 2008, when I really became disgusted:

This Year in CELL PHONE Photos 2010-2011

These photos are from spur of the moment everyday activities I wanted to capture. I find my cell phone is a great tool for quick-on-the-draw shots. These images are a part of what makes up my true life... and they describe some of the thoughts that run through my head daily.

Happy 4-20-2011!!!

My first indoor gallery exhibition opened 4/20/11 at NSAA (New School for Arts & Academics) in Tempe, AZ. It was exciting and I was happy it all came together. Thanks to the other 5 artists involved in the show, Kathryn Lew, Virginia Martinez, Glory Shim, Valerie Echeveria, and Margaret Hernandez. I think we rocked it! Also especially THANK YOU to my supportive family for coming to see the work you are all a part of.

This work was very personal for me and dealt with the loss of my childhood home and the visual memories I still have connected to this place I've always considered "home."
Check out my artist book Home published at Blurb.

Bookmaking is a fun and very creative process I look forward to learning more about during my stay ASU. Sometimes though, it is nice to let someone publish it for you... this is where Blurb.com comes in. What a great resource for writers and art enthusiasts. Make your work tangible!
